Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to see if Roark Bookkeeping might be a great fit for your company. My name is Jennifer Roark and I founded and own Roark Bookkeeping LLC. I’m originally from Maryville and attended Northwest Missouri State University where I received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. My husband and I moved to Blue Springs over 25 years ago. Our two sons graduated from Blue Springs South High School and went on to NWMSU and K-State University. 

I spent 23 years running my own multi-location finance company. I was once asked by Mr. Joe Crider, Supervisor of Consumer Credit, Missouri Division of Finance, to give a speech at the National Association of Consumer Credit Administrators (NACCA) annual examiners school. The topic was an industry perspective of a small business owner and the positive and negative insights I had gained over the years. My speech was centered around all the different “hats” small business owners must wear such as Operations, Finance, PR, HR, R&D, QC, Marketing, Accounting, IT and legal. You see, I’ve been in your exact position! Deciding which “hat” is most important on any given day and which “hat” gets pushed aside. Wearing all those “hats” for over 20 years, as I'm sure you know, can be tiring. I decided to take my favorite “hat” and more than 25 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, human resources, payroll management, and QuickBooks administration and start down a new path.

Accounting is one of those “hats” that is hard to hire someone else to do because you know you can do it yourself…even if you don’t really enjoy it, don’t really have the time to do it and could focus on aspects of your business that could make you more money if you handed it over to someone else.
